Bradley Central Wraps Up Perfect District Play With Win Over Soddy Daisy

SODDY DAISY, Tenn. — The Bradley Central Bearettes went on the road and wrapped up the regular season with a 66-24 win over Soddy-Daisy on Tuesday night from Soddy Daisy High School.

After struggling to find the basket to open up the game, the host Trojans was the first on the board with a free-throw. Bradley continued to stretch their lead in the third, taking their largest lead of the night off a Hannah Jones layup from a Kelsey Carman pass to go up 42 with 2:41 remaining.

With the benches cleared and a running clock in the fourth, the Bearettes closed out the game 11-6 in the final frame to take the 66-24 victory.

Walker led all scorers with 26 points and Jamia Williams was the next leading scorer with eight. Sloan Carpenter came in with seven points and Carpenter, Williams, and Mayo all came up with four steals on the night. Ashlan Crittenden produced a game-high five assists and matched a game-high four rebounds.

Bailey Branam led Soddy-Daisy with eight points and Katie Hamby pulled down four rebounds.

Bradley Central controlled every facet of the game outscoring the Trojans off turnovers (41-4), in the paint (46-10), in second-chance scoring (16-2), on fast breaks (26-2), and bench scoring (22-9) while winning the battle on the boards 24-19 thanks to nine offensive rebounds.

The hosts shot 8-of-21 (38.1 percent) from the floor and made 1-of-7 (14.3 percent) from beyond the arc. Soddy-Daisy struggled from the free-throw line shooting 46.7 percent (7-fo-17).

Bradley Central went 29-of-53 overall and hit 4-of-15 (26.7 percent) of its 3-point shots. Bradley went 4-of-9 (44.4 percent) at the charity stripe.
