Bradley Rolls Past Ooltewah 92-18

CLEVELAND, Tenn. — The Bradley Central Bearettes took care of district foe Ooltewah, 92-18, on Tuesday night from Jim Smiddy Arena.

The Bearettes saw three girls score in double figures led by Anna Walker with 24 points to go with four blocks in 15 minutes of play. Jamaryn Blair was the next leading scorer throwing in 14 of her own while dishing out six assists in the contest and making seven steals. Reserve Ashton Estrada put in a career-high 12 points and tied six other Bearettes with a team-high three rebounds in only 13 minutes of action.

Bradley Central (13-3, 5-0 District 5 AAA) scored the first seven points of the game and never looked back in the landslide victory. The Bearettes continued to stretch their lead all the way throughout the game stretching it to 28 on a Walker 3-pointer from an Ashlan Crittenden pass at the buzzer.

Bradley continued rolling in the second using a, 16-0, run started with a Kelsey Carman 3-pointer and capped off by a Cambree Mayo free-throw to make the lead 55-8 and went into halftime up 49.

Ooltewah had no answer as the Bearettes outscored the Owls 30-5 over the final two frames to cruise to a 92-18 victory.

Faith O’Donnell led the Owls with five points. Shea Thompson and Jada Thorp pulled down five boards each to pace the team. Amaya Sutton had a pair of assists and Makya Poland had two steals and a block all leading the team.

Bradley controlled every facet of the game. The Bearettes outrebounded their opponents 29-22 and outscored the Owls 12-4 in the paint. The hosts forced 42 turnovers in the contest and took advantage outscoring Ooltewah 63-2 off turnovers. Bradley also cleaned up in second-chance scoring winning the category 19-4 off 18 offensive boards. The Bearettes even outscored the Owls in fast breaks (33-9), and in bench scoring (37-5).

Ooltewah struggled to put the ball in the basket making only 7-of-22 (31.8 percent) overall and 2-of-5 (40 percent) from 3-point range. The Owls were a cold 25 percent (2-for-8) from the free-throw line.

On the other hand, Bradley shot 54 percent (34-for-63) from the floor and was 11-for-25 (44 percent) from 3-point distance. The Bearettes went 13-for-20 (65 percent) from the charity stripe.

Bradley Central will be back in action on Friday evening as they continue district action against Soddy-Daisy. Tipoff is set for 6 p.m.
