SPARTA, Tenn. — Anna Muhonen was named the MVP and Sloan Carpenter, Cambree Mayo, and Anna Walker joined her on the 2020 TSSAA Region 3 AAA Region All-Tournament team as announced on Wednesday night following the championship game.
Muhonen was named the MVP after averaging eight points and 5.3 rebounds per game in the three-game tournament. The junior post shot 45 percent (9-of-20) from the floor and was 6-of-13 (46.2 percent) from the free-throw line. Muhonen led the team with eight assists and three blocks to go with a pair of steals.
Carpenter was placed on the team after scoring eight points and pulling down three boards a game for the tournament. The freshman point guard went 9-of-24 (37.5 percent) overall and 4-of-10 (40 percent) from beyond the arc. Carpenter made her first career start in the semifinal win over Rhea County and went 2-of-4 (50 percent) from the line in the tournament while dishing out three assists.
Mayo led the team with 15.7 points per game and came away with 3.3 rebounds per game for the region championship team. The senior guard poured in a career-high 24 points in the region championship win over Stone Memorial. Mayo was efficient shooting 57.9 percent (11-for-19) from the floor and went 6-of-13 (46.2 percent) from 3-point land. The guard shot 86.4 percent (19-for-22) from the line to pace Bradley to go with two assists and a team-high nine steals.
Walker was the final Bearette named to the region all-tournament team. The senior put up 11.7 points and 4.7 boards a game. The Chattanooga commit shot 41.4 percent (12-of-29) overall and went 9-for-13 (69.2 percent) from the free-throw line. Walker rounded out her stat line with six steals, three assists, and a pair of blocks.
Bradley Central will be back in action on Saturday as they take on Tullahoma in a sectional contest at 7 p.m.
