CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — Anna Walker was named as a finalist for the 2020 Chattanooga Times Free Press Best of Preps Female Athlete of the Year Award as announced on Monday.
Walker was named a finalist after putting up 17.1 points and 5.9 rebounds per game to lead the team in both categories. The Chattanooga commit proved efficient shooting 48.2 percent (198-for-411) overall and 37.7 percent (55-for-146) from 3-point range. Walker went 95-for-120 (79.2 percent) from the free-throw line while having 54 steals, 38 blocks, and 35 assists on the season.
The senior post wrapped up her career with 1,349 career points and 633 rebounds. Walker had a career shooting percentage of 47.4 (509-for-1,074) overall and 36.6 percent (107-for-292) from 3-point land. The future Moc ended her Bearette career with going 224-for-300 (74.7 percent) from the line to go with 173 steals, 146 blocks, and 118 assists.
Walker set career highs in points (28 vs. McMinn County – Feb. 24), rebounds (14 at Farragut – Dec. 20), assists (4 McMinn County – Jan. 10), field goals made (12 vs. Tampa Bay Technical (Fla.) – Dec. 31), field goals attempted (26 vs. Tampa Bay Technical (Fla.) – Dec. 31), and 3-point field goals made (5 vs. East Hamilton – Feb. 25) in the 2019-20 season.
